2026-2027 New Student Enrollment Now Open!

Coweta Public Schools is excited to announce that new student enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year is now available online!

If your child has never attended Coweta Public Schools, you can begin the enrollment process by scanning the QR code on this graphic or visiting:

https://www.cowetaps.org/page/enrollment-information

How the New Student Enrollment Process Works

  1. Complete and submit the online New Student Pre-Registration Form.

  2. A separate form must be submitted for each student you wish to enroll.

  3. Once submitted, a campus registrar will review and approve the pre-registration information.

  4. After approval, the parent/guardian will receive an email with instructions for creating a PowerSchool Parent Portal account.

  5. Through the Parent Portal, you will complete and submit the remaining required enrollment forms and documentation.

Important Reminder

Submitting the online pre-registration form does not complete enrollment. A student is not officially enrolled until:

  • All required forms have been completed,

  • All required documentation has been submitted,

  • And the enrollment has been reviewed and approved by district staff.

Summer Registration Office Schedule

Please note that school registration offices are typically closed from mid-June through the end of July. During this time, processing and approvals may take longer than normal.

We look forward to welcoming new students and families to Coweta Public Schools—Home of the Tigers!

Back to School, Tigers (Yes… Really This Time.)

Coweta Public Schools will be open for in-person learning on Friday, January 30th — and yes, this one is for real.

We want to sincerely apologize for any confusion or inconvenience caused by yesterday’s change in status. We know that shifts like that affect families, schedules, and plans, and we truly appreciate your patience as we worked through rapidly changing weather and safety conditions.

Oklahoma weather keeps us on our toes, but our priority is always making the best decision we can with the information available at the time — and keeping our students and staff safe.

The good news: our buildings are warm, buses are ready, and classrooms are set. We’re excited to welcome our Tigers back to campus and get back to learning together.

See you Friday. For real. 🐯

IMPORTANT: Switch to Distance Learning for Thu 1/29

I regret to inform you that we have changed our decision and will move to virtual learning tomorrow Jan 29th instead of meeting in person.

This decision was made after careful consideration of current safety concerns. Black ice is already forming in our parking lots and in several neighborhoods, and potential staffing challenges. These factors create safety issues, including insufficient supervision in some schools.

I understand this change may cause a significant burden for some of you, and I am truly sorry for the inconvenience. Our priority is the safety of our students and staff. We are hopeful that another day of above-freezing temperatures will improve conditions so everyone can safely travel to and around our sites.

INCLEMENT WEATHER UPDATE

While weather and road conditions are beginning to improve, continued frigid temperatures are still creating conditions that warrant additional caution. As a result, Coweta Public Schools will shift to distance learning on Wednesday, January 28.

Wednesday will count as an instructional day. Students are encouraged to check in with their teacher when possible and complete any assigned work throughout the day.

Please continue to monitor the district website at https://www.cowetaps.org and our official social media channels for updated information regarding the rest of the week.

Greetings Tiger Family,

After careful consideration, we have decided to move the Freshman Formal to Saturday, February 21st. This new date presents fewer conflicts with other school activities and should allow more CIHS students to participate.
We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause and appreciate your understanding. We hope this adjustment makes it possible for more students to attend and enjoy the event.

The staff at CIHS hopes everyone had a wonderful holiday season. This is a reminder that the Spring semester begins on Tuesday. Tomorrow is a Professional Development day for staff, so students will not return until Tuesday. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for a great start to the new semester. — Coy Graves, Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians,

After Christmas Break, our students will participate in an Anti-Vaping Program presented by the Oklahoma State Department of Health. This program is designed to educate students about the negative consequences of vaping and other tobacco use. The presentation will cover topics such as:
-Short- and long-term physical, psychological, and social effects of vaping and tobacco use
-Negative consequences of exposure to secondhand smoke and vaping aerosol
-Why individuals choose to vape or use tobacco products
-Advocacy strategies for avoiding vaping and tobacco use

If you would prefer that your student not participate in this presentation, please email me at coy.graves@cowetaps.org to opt out.

Thank you for your support in helping us promote a healthy and safe environment for all students.

Sincerely,
Coy Graves

CIHS Update: This morning we briefly went on a Hold Protocol due to a medical emergency in the office. Students stayed in class and continued learning. The hold is now lifted and school is back to normal. For questions, please call the office.

Dear Tiger Family,

It’s hard to believe we are already coming up on the end of the semester! I want to share some important information regarding semester tests, exemptions, and distance learning Mondays.

Semester Test Exemptions
-Students are ONLY ALLOWED 4 absences of any kind and must maintain all A’s and B’s to be exempt.
-Every absence beyond the initial 4 counts against exemptions, regardless of the reason.
-The only attendance codes not counted toward the allowed absences are:
FT (Field Trip)
SA (School Activity)
-Life events such as surgeries, family emergencies, or vacations are still considered absences for exemption purposes.
-Students who attend In-School Placement (IP) or are suspended will not be eligible for exemptions.
-Semester Tests will be held on December 18th & 19th.
-If a student goes over 4 absences prior to December 18th, they will be required to take the semester tests.
-Semester Tests are all or nothing. If a student goes over 4 absences in one class, they will take all of the semester tests.
Exemptions are a great perk for students with excellent grades and attendance, and we appreciate your support in helping them meet these requirements.

Distance Learning Mondays
-For the remainder of the semester, only students with at least one grade below 60% will be required to attend distance learning Mondays.

Thank you for your continued support as we finish the semester strong! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

Warm regards,
Coy Graves

Today, CIHS and CHS in conjunction with our Coweta Police Officers conducted a lockdown drill during a passing period to ensure that students, faculty, and staff know what to do in the event of a lockdown during a passing period. We have been making daily announcements throughout the week to prepare students and help minimize anxiety about this drill. Students did an excellent job clearing the building in under one minute.
